The third week of internship ends soon as we got holiday on Monday. There were only fourworking days and it went as usual. This weekwe got few more teacher trainees to share ourworks. They were altogether five trainees andthey were from Mar Theophilus college. I washappy to see them. We talked each other and became friends soon. We met on Tuesday and as it was there first day in school we dnt force them to go to vacant classes .
This week we got our timetable for third
semester examination and it is said that our
exam is going to start on 14th of December. So
we informed our headmistress that we will be
coming only till 9th of this month. She agreed and i informed this to my students. They were really sad to hear this. In this week i conducted
achievement test on friday and they wrote
examination with utmost seriousness. The
exam was conducted for one hour and for writing this exam they sacrificed their interval
time. So it was easy for me to adjust the class
hours. Before conducting exam i made them do
exercises based on their curriculum. I taught
them correct format for writing a letter , a diary
entry and notices. Then i asked them to write
conversation. I gave them many general topics
to write a letter , notice, conversation etc. Then i
made them write the daily diary as well. They
wrote it and it was interesting to read their daily
diary. Then i asked them to write about their
magical dream it was also interesting. I was
really astonished to hear their magical dreams.
This week was very interesting as the class was
not based on textbooks. They wrote about many
topics i gave. And i Understood that to improve
their English it is better to teach them from
outside textbook. Because when i made them
write conversation and letter within the textbook
they wrote it from the paragraph itself. They
used the same sentences from the textbook. So
it was difficult for me to understand their
English calibre. So when i made them write from
other topics , they cooked their own sentences and it helped ti understand their knowledge in using English. There were students who are poor in using grammar correctly. I identified those students and i planed to teach them basics in the coming week. They are having english exam on 14th of December. There first exam is english. We had a bad news this week, a teacher's mother passed away on Tuesday. So on Wednesday our teachers went to that funeral and we teacher trainees managed the school. Our headmistress came back to school by 2 pm and other teachers took leave for whole day. So in the afternoon section also we managed the school. As Rajeswari teacher was not there on Wednesday she asked me to monitor the students in viii A . Teacher divides the portion of the lesson 'A Day in the Country' and asked four students to prepare and come on Wednesday to take class. As she was taking leave for attending that funeral she asked me to monitor them. In the first class i went to 8A and asked them to take classes but they made mistakes when explaining. So i gave explanation to each paragraphs as they finished explaining their portions. I finished the lesson on that day itself and gave them homeworks. Thus our another week of teaching practice got over. It was hard for us to cope up in that school but now we got adjusted and going well with that school.
